Silke Zimmermann is Curator and Head of Programme at Munich based Nemetschek Stiftung. Her academic background is in Theatre and Film Studies and Sociology. Advanced trainings in experience design and NGO management complement her skills. Silke started her career in the media and cultural sector and worked as a project manager and programme curator in the vibrant city of Berlin for more than ten years. After these inspiring years in Germany’s capital she decided to gain more international experience and headed further west to Vancouver, Canada. Truly affected by the West coast way of living in 2010 Silke moved on to Munich to join Nemetschek Stiftung. With her visionary state of mind she helped shaping the newly established foundation and became one of its heads and hearts. Being in charge of the foundation’s programme and communication she creates new formats of independent and non-party sociopolitical education. Here her passion and core interest is to create narrative spaces where people are invited to reflect and to exchange ideas and opinions on sociopolitical questions of the now and the future.
